Get to know me

My life has always unfolded in places where creativity and connection meet. I began as an actress, stepping into stories and slipping into other lives, surrounded by people who opened doors to healing practices I had never imagined. I taught drama, guided young voices, and watching shy spirits grow and shine on stage. I trained as a fitness instructor connecting with people through my fitness classes, helping others find strength and joy in movement. I followed whatever lit a spark in me — whatever felt alive.

Then came 2002, and three small children who filled my days and my heart. In the beautiful chaos of motherhood, I realised I had drifted away from the quieter, spiritual part of myself. I longed for stillness, for something that felt like home.

Reiki arrived like a whisper — or perhaps more like a bell. A friend mentioned it in passing, and although I had never heard the word before, something inside me rang out in recognition. Soon after, I saw a poster for an Usui Reiki Level 1 course in a shop window. I signed up without hesitation, never having received a treatment, knowing almost nothing… only sensing that I was being called.

When I confessed this to my Reiki Master, she smiled and said, “Reiki finds you, if you don’t find it.” And he was right.

Over the last 23 years, Reiki has woven itself through every chapter of my life. I became a primary school teacher. I opened I Love Zero, a zero‑waste shop in Pocklington with my husband. I trained in Breathwork and learned how to guide others through the rise and fall of their own breath — that quiet, ancient rhythm.

And now, as a Reiki Master Teacher, I hold space for a beautiful community of clients who come for Reiki, Breathwork, meditation, and the gentle unfolding of their own healing journeys. Some feel called to deepen their path through attunements. Each time I am chosen to guide a student, I feel the privilege of it — the responsibility, the honour, the quiet magic.
